چکیده

A reaction involving the catalytic oxidation of glucose by the enzyme glucose oxidase is employed as a first spatially resolved experimental realization of a nonclassical A + C f C + Products chemical reaction. This heterogeneous kinetics experiment models the operation of optical glucose sensors. One-dimensional nonclassical reaction kinetics, manifested in anomalous rate laws, are observed. The time evolution of the density gradient of O2 in the zone near the catalytic trap was monitored. The temporal dependence of the growth of this depletion zone M, predicted to scale as t1/2, was measured to be M ∼ t0.50(0.05. This time dependence of the growth in M is directly proportional to the anomalous, time-dependent, reaction rate coefficient.

Catalytic Performance and Kinetic Study in the Total Oxidation of VOC over Micro/Meso Porous Catalysts

The total oxidation of toluene at a wide temperature range (200–500 oC) over micro/mesoporous platinated catalysts has been investigated about activity, selectivity to CO2 and CO, catalyst's stability versus coke deposition and reaction kinetics. Kinetic of toluene oxidation was measured under various oxygen and toluene pressures and als...

Study of HMS Modified ZrO2 Supported Platinum Catalysts for Toluene Removal: Catalytic Combustion and Kinetics Study

Reaction behaviors and kinetics of catalytic oxidation of toluene with different feed flows over Pt/Zr(x)-HMS catalysts with Si/Zr ratio equal to 5, 10, 20 and 35 were investigated over a wide temperature range (200 – 500 oC). Results show that Pt/Zr(x)-HMS performs more easily toluene oxidation. The kinetic data were fitted by the Power-law and Mars–van Krevelen kinetic models. The fitting res...

SpaciMS: spatial and temporal operando resolution of reactions within catalytic monoliths.

Monolithic catalysts are widely used as structured catalysts, especially in the abatement of pollutants. Probing what happens inside these monoliths during operation is, therefore, vital for modelling and prediction of the catalyst behavior. SpaciMS is a spatially resolved capillary-inlet mass spectroscopy system allowing for the generation of spatially resolved maps of the reactions within mon...

Influence of Operational Parameters and Kinetic Modelling of Catalytic Wet Air Oxidation of Phenol by Al/Zr Pillared Clay Catalyst

Single and mixed oxide Al/Zr-pillared clay (Al/Zr-PILC) catalysts were synthesized and tested for catalytic wet air oxidation (CWAO) of aqueous phenol solution under milder conditions, in a semi-batch reactor. The catalysts were synthesized from natural bentonite clay using ultrasonic treatment during the aging and intercalation steps and were characterized <...

Palladium nanoparticles supported on carbon black powder as an effective anodic catalyst for application in a direct glucose alkaline fuel cell

Palladium nanoparticles supported on carbon black powder (Vulcan XC-72) nanocomposite (Pd/C) are synthesized as the catalyst for the anodic oxidation of glucose for use in a direct glucose alkaline fuel cell (DGAFC). Characterization of the catalyst is carried out using physical and electrochemical methods. It is observed that Palladium nanoparticles are uniformly dispersed onto the carbon blac...
